Ok to remove the valance?
This customer installed black roller shades without valances, in a 2000 Fleetwood Southland RV.
Light Blocking
If you want to install your shades without valances, but you also want more light blocking, you can order them wider than the window. In this image you can see that the shades are wider than the windows and work great!
